Remember To Forget

Memories, the strongest heart disease
Memories that are more alive than us
Memories of earthlings now space dust finding their way Everything dies but these feelings, these memories
When we wish to disappear far enough not even to remember self
As we try to get used to endings every evening and new beginnings with the rise
Then always remember to forget.

The art of life is letting go
To itches that have no name or scent
When there's no way to explain it but in tears
When it doesn't matter anymore but still hurts deep to the bone
With overwhelming pain that people no longer cry, just silent total silence
Unfortunate how we can hurt much longer than we experienced the cause
it's  a curse and blessing to love, feel and remember too
So always remember to forget

Do you understand,                                                             The feeling of a hand left after the hand itself is gone What of any eye, a heart that harbored love now forfeited Memorized phone numbers of loved ones now long gone Waking up to good mornings, smiling through and laughing all night with them                                               The safety of their existence, that you can reach and lean on them                                                                              That, sadly, we can only understand after it's all gone, far from us                                                                                Then what next, maybe we should always remember to forget then forget
